I began as a writer of stage plays when I was living in San Luis Obispo on the central coast of California. The theatre held "No Shame Theatre" once a month, which allowed anyone to present anything from poetry to dance. I began writing monologues and performing them on stage. For No Shame Theatre there are three rules; The piece you perform must be original or you have to have permission of the owner to perform it. It must not go over five minutes. You cannot break anything, especially the law.
I originally performed Mr. Meeks And Jezebel at No Shame Theatre in San Luis Obispo, but it was never recorded. I had another opportunity to perform my pieces at Open Mic Night in Norwalk, Connecticut. This is the story of a man who is convinced by his cat to extort lost pet reward money from unsuspecting families.
Hilarious!!! Go learn to play that guitar! We'll be waiting!
Very Good! Keep me posted on your next show.
interesting monologue
The Inheritance was the first monologue I wrote and performed for No Shame Theatre. The play is a story told about a man's uncle and his uncle's guitar. Although the man may never realize why he received the guitar, the audience will understand more about the gift then he does. The original performance was not recorded but I did have another opportunity to repeat the performance and this time it was recorded.
Hilarious!!! Go learn to play that guitar! We'll be waiting!
Per usual, a great story teller. Good job!
